Good books for $5.00


These are not really used books, they're mostly excess stock from one of my suppliers, and they are all several years old. Most of these are from India. Which means Indian standards of quality, which are a bit shabby by modern American standards. As we got these for a good price, we're happy to pass it along. These are, for the most part, $5.00 each. Some we have in quantity, but for some there are only a few. Expand your library, expand your horizons, take a dare. The stranger the book, the more interesting its adventure.

This is the original edition of a book the AFA has recently reset & republished (May, 2011). The original - which is this book - wasn't very good for the simple reason it had poor, cramped layouts. For one reason or another, I ended up with two copies of the original on my shelves, priced at $11.00 each. I've now marked them down to $5.00. You want the new, reset edition? That's $21.95.

used: STARS OF DESTINY - Katherine Taylor Craig, $5.00

Taraporevala. 279 pages. Condition: Fair. Printed: 1991.

The first half of the book is a series of essays, the longest & most interesting being the astrological influences around the start of World War I, which was still ongoing when the book was published, as the essay trails off in the year 1915.

The second half of the book is on natal astrology, starting with chart construction. In the back are natal charts (timed) for the leaders (kings) of the nations that went to war in 1914, which nowadays are rarely seen.

Taraporevala. 158 pages. Condition: Fair. Printed: 1988.

Sepharial originally wrote this for Alan Leo, but seems he later claimed it back as his own. There was ultimately a version edited by Vivian Robson. Which is not this book.

A very nice, comprehensive dictionary.

Taraporevala. 264 pages. Condition: Fair. Printed: 1988.

Sun signs, Moon signs - the lunar signs are quite lavish, as well as Venus signs. With this as a framework, the mysterious author can talk about love & romance & how the different signs function as husband or wife. And how they function as parents, followed by how the signs get on as children, followed by how the signs manage as business partners, followed in its turn by how the twelve signs are as friends. This was intended for a mass-market crowd, and is rather well-written for its limited uses.
