I'm sorry, it's always been hard for me to take Vikings seriously. Yes, they have wonderful legends, but they share them with their Germanic relatives, most of whom were more civilized than these guys. But I suppose there is a place in the world for a mythology of power, as much as I don't care for it myself.

In handling the cards, they seem to fall into several categories: There are 11 common (every day) objects, such as drinking horn, spear, helmet, shield, long boat, hearth, armor, currency, mask, etc. There are gods & divine objects, such as Huginn & Muninn, Sleipnir, Volva, the Sagas, Norns, Totem poles, the Giant, etc. There are these animals: Eagle, bull & dragon. There are locations: The council, the sweat lodge, the burial mound, the Stone of Thor, the place of power, the solstice cairn. And there are a rune card & a blood brothers card (with rather icky looking blood).

Viking stuff is rather thin when you get down to it. For something more substantial, see Clive Barrett's Norse Tarot. Makes me wish I had done better notes on that deck when I had it open.
